Swami Dayanand Saraswati -EAT SMART LIVE WELL

Saturday 26th July 2025 RC Baroda Sayajinagari conducted session with Dr.Aarti Rathi EAT SMART LIVE WELL at Swami Dayanand Sarswati Primary School Ajwa Rd Rtn Sanyogita along with more than 200 School children n School staff attended this beautiful session of Dr.Aarti on which she explained kids why one should should healthy home cooked food, what is healthy food and why one should not consume packed food n how to read ingredients , its process ,expiry Date etc on these packed food. After the session some students willingly came forward n narrated the session in brief . RCBS gifted 2 Sugar Boards for display in school so that students are reminded of sugar content in Beverage and food they consume frequently. Let's Talk Periods- Dayanand Saraswati

RCBS, in collaboration with Yi Vadodara Chapter, is organizing an awareness session on Menstrual Health and Hygiene. The Menstrual Health and Hygiene session was conducted with the aim of educating adolescent girls about the biological, physical, and emotional aspects of menstruation. Through an interactive, inclusive, and culturally sensitive approach, facilitators Vidhi and Nandini created a safe environment for students to ask questions, express concerns, and learn best practices around menstrual hygiene. led a safe and age-appropriate conversation around periods — breaking taboos, busting myths, and promoting healthy menstrual hygiene practices. 🌸 Together, were creating a world where menstruation is understood, respected, and never a barrier to education 📚

As part of our educational programme, we visited Everest Composites Pvt. Ltd. to gain practical knowledge about industrial manufacturing and materials used in production. On arrival, we were introduced to the company and its work in manufacturing fibre-reinforced composite materials such as FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic). We explored different sections of the factory and learned about the raw materials used, including fibreglass, resins, and additives. The staff explained how these materials are processed and moulded into products like roofing sheets, tanks, pipes, and other industrial components used in construction and various industries. We also learned about the environmental impact of these materials. After the visit, we had lunch together, which gave us time to reflect on what we had learned. The visit had a significant impact on our understanding of how industries function.

The event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of a core team of seven members, who worked non-stop for fifteen consecutive days to meticulously plan and execute the program. On the event day, the program ran from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, generating nearly 2,000 community man-hours of active engagement. The audience largely comprised non-Rotarians, making it a strong public image initiative. a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) session was conducted by Zydus Hospital. Led by Dr Gitanjali Gupta, emergency medicine specialist at Zydus, the session walked students of the Interact club through what to do when someone is in a dire situation and when or when not to give CPR. Dr Gupta took us through 6 steps, abbreviated as DRS CAB: D: Danger - check for scene safety R: Responsiveness - check if the patient is responding by calling their name and checking for pulse and breath S: Send for help - ask people around for help calling an ambulance and getting an AED machine C: Chest compressions - they are supposed to be 5 cm deep into the sternum A: Airway B: Breaths We got the opportunity to perform CPR on a dummy to practically see how it works.

An impactful session titled “Eat Smart, Live Well” in collaboration with renowned nutritionist Dr. Aarti Rathi at Sevasi High School. Over 400 students and school staff attended this enlightening session, joined by Rtn. Moksha Shah and Rtn. Vrunda. Dr. Aarti captivated young minds as she explained: • The importance of eating fresh, home-cooked meals • What qualifies as healthy food • Why we should avoid packaged foods • How to read food labels, including ingredient lists, expiry dates, and processing details What made the session even more heartwarming was when students voluntarily stepped forward to summarize and reflect on what they had learned — a true testament to the session’s impact! To reinforce the message, RCBS gifted two “Sugar Boards” to the school — creative visual displays that help students stay mindful of the sugar content in commonly consumed beverages and snacks.
